About The Position

Safety-Kleen is seeking a Regional Class A Tanker Driver to join its safety-conscious team in East Chicago, Indiana. The route runs from East Chicago to locations throughout the Midwest and averages 65 hours per week, with weekly home time. Drivers average $120,000–$130,000 per year, and a $7,500 sign-on bonus is available. Compensation includes hourly wages for all on-duty non-driving time, paid overtime, and per diem.

Requirements

• Class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
• At least 12 months of Class A driving experience.
• At least 3 months of tanker experience.
• HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements.
• Ability to climb and work at heights.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to effectively use required technology, such as mobile applications and computer software.

Responsibilities

• Make health and safety the top priority by following safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting safely at all times.
• Operate tractor-trailer tanker units.
• Adhere to weight limits and ensure proper utilization of units.
• Load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste properly and secure loads.
• Placard vehicles in accordance with company and Department of Transportation requirements and regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, expense reports, dispatch and trip reports, and vehicle inspection reports.
