About The Position

The objective of the Regional Capacity Manager position is to further identify, develop, and manage regionally specific carriers in a strategic and targeted manner for Ryan Transportation. This position will work closely with Carrier Account Managers, Account Managers, Director of Sales, Director of Carrier Operations, Business Development Managers, Pricing Analysts, and others to strategically manage the relationships of carriers to align their capacity with high volume, specialized, and key Ryan Transportation customers and lanes. This position will also work with our sales and pricing team to assist in RFP and pricing efforts in their given regional markets of expertise.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months demonstrated success within a CAM, Operations Manager, Account Manager, or Team Sales Manager Role.
  • Ability to sell cross-functionally throughout all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills.
  • Strong customer relations ability with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and alongside team members in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Suite, along with basic knowledge and understanding of PC applications.
  • Data entry skills and experience required.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills to meet customer/company deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support Carrier Account Managers (CAMs) within your assigned region.
  • Own outbound carrier coverage and regional capacity strategy.
  • Identify and manage repeat carrier solutions for contracted and high‑volume spot lanes.
  • Analyze lanes and geographies to address recurring capacity needs.
  • Align carriers with CAMs to ensure clear ownership and execution.
  • Assign FIT trainees carrier leads for discovery calls and priority capacity initiatives.
  • Own regional contract lane awards in YAT, including coordination with Business Development and CAMs on carrier engagement, pricing, and rate submissions.
  • Prospect and develop carriers across service types and equipment modes within the region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier leadership and key decision‑makers.
  • Conduct carrier performance reviews, identify improvement opportunities, and drive corrective actions.
  • Manage high-level lane and regional operations with key carrier partners.
  • Serve as the regional subject matter expert on carrier operations, pricing, and capacity trends.
  • Collaborate with other Regional Capacity Managers to drive network efficiency and shared coverage.
  • Possible travel for carrier visits within your region for carrier engagement.
  • Partner with other Shamrock brands to identify cross‑selling and capacity collaboration opportunities.
