About The Position

The Regional Business Manager position with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) plays a key role in supporting the daily functions of the Southeast Region. This role guides essential administrative operations that help environmental programs run efficiently. It is well suited for someone who enjoys coordinating complex tasks and leading teams toward shared goals. This position directs the administrative services that support regional operations, ensuring that budgeting, personnel activities, contracts, data management, and daily coordination are carried out effectively. It maintains high standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance across all major functions.

Requirements

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management of staff work in public or private organization, including experience in personnel management budgeting or procurement
  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit regional budget requests and establish spending priorities to support operational needs
  • Supervise purchasing functions, review SAP documents, and verify compliance with purchasing rules
  • Maintain accurate, consistent entries in all DEP electronic systems and use tools to prevent quality issues
  • Manage emergency, service, and technical contracts and oversee bidding, notification, and award processes
  • Monitor payroll, overtime, and personnel actions to ensure alignment with laws, policies, and bargaining requirements
  • Coordinate administrative units, address workflow concerns, plan work priorities, and support program staff across disciplines
