The Chronic Region Manager is responsible for leading a regional team of Portfolio Managers and Peritoneal Dialysis Clinical Specialists to achieve the financial, commercial, clinical, and business objectives of the assigned chronic care region. This leader is accountable for regional performance against the Annual Operating Plan, including sales growth, PD growth priorities, customer engagement, patient retention, field execution, and team development. A successful Chronic Region Manager combines strong business acumen, data-driven decision-making, customer focus, and people leadership. This role requires the ability to coach through complexity, build accountability across cross-functional teams, and align commercial execution with clinical partnership and patient-centered outcomes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of healthcare sales, clinical, commercial, or renal care experience preferred, with 3+ years of people leadership or sales management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, develop talent, coach in the field, and execute business strategy across a defined region.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to analyze data, interpret trends, develop forecasts, evaluate market opportunities, and translate insights into effective sales and clinical partnership strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, coaching, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and adapt to changing customer needs, field priorities, market dynamics, and evolving business processes.
  • Strong organization, time leadership, decision-making, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned region as needed to support customers, team members, field coaching, and business priorities; travel may be 50%+ depending on geography and business need.

Responsibilities

  • Drive regional strategies to achieve chronic business objectives, including sales growth, profitability, funnel management, PD growth, patient retention, digital adoption, and center-level performance improvement.
  • Manage the regional opportunity funnel by coaching Portfolio Managers on opportunity identification, stage progression, forecast accuracy, conversion risks, and next-step accountability.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Portfolio Managers and PD Clinical Specialists through regular field engagement, performance discussions, business reviews, and individualized development planning.
  • Support strategic customer engagements, business reviews, PD Growth Partnership Strategy meetings, clinical education opportunities, and account-level action planning.
  • Coach PD Clinical Specialists to develop center-driven action plans with clear owners, timing, mutual commitments, and measurable retention and growth objectives.
  • Reinforce effective Portfolio Manager and PD Clinical Specialist partnership by monitoring target overlap, coordinating support activities, and ensuring prescriber-related barriers are surfaced and addressed appropriately.
  • Contact and collaborate with major accounts, account owners, clinic leadership, nephrology stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to develop opportunity, resolve barriers, and ensure customer satisfaction within the assigned region.
  • Use regional performance data, dashboards, target lists, PD census trends, gross gains, gross losses, retention metrics, funnel movement, and digital adoption insights to guide prioritization and execution.
  • Ensure regional operating discipline across required systems and processes, including Salesforce.com, Tableau, OneDrive, Workday, Concur, Boost, and other business tools used to manage performance, action plans, and field execution.
  • Partner with sales support, marketing, clinical, operations, market research, and other cross-functional teams on process improvement, training, customer resources, and special projects that advance regional priorities.
  • Promote the Vantive culture through ethical leadership, positive customer relationships, personnel development, regular field engagement, and commitment to patient-centered outcomes.
