About The Position

The Region Manager is responsible for driving sales and distribution growth of the company’s products within their assigned market. This role focuses on effective distributor management, market development, and executing strategies within chain and retail environments. The position requires a high-energy, self-starting individual with a strong work ethic, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to plan and execute effectively.

  • Bev Alc Experience - Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Beverage Alcohol Industry, preferably within the Beer Category.
  • Manage Direct Reports - Prior experience managing direct reports in a sales environment.
  • Wholesaler Knowledge - Knowledge and experience within the 3-tier system with the ability to balance between the demands of wholesaler management and retail execution.
  • Inventory Management - Knowledge & skill in distributor inventory management.
  • Data Analysis & Business Insights - Knowledge of VIP iDig, Karma, Nielsen Scan Data and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, in at times extreme environments, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations.
  • Required to frequently lift and move 10-25 pounds.
  • Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, taste, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle.
  • Must have a good driving record.
  • Must have personal liability auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous beer distributor or supplier experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the sales and distribution growth of the company's product portfolio in the assigned market.
  • Develop distributor programs to identify, target, and market to existing and potential accounts, maximizing distribution, shelf space, and merchandising efforts.
  • Build relationships with distributors by attending and leading meetings, keeping management informed of initiatives, and developing incentives.
  • Track and measure performance against key priorities.
  • Train and motivate distributor sales representatives and managers on product knowledge, sales techniques, and promotions to encourage them to act as brand advocates.
  • Oversee and manage appropriate distributor inventory levels in coordination with the customer orders team and distributor purchasing managers.
  • Foster and develop productive business relationships in the market that drive clear results.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Director on the development and execution of the distributor's Annual Business Plan and the overall strategic sales plan for the market.
  • Provide day-to-day management, development, training, and accountability for Field Sales Representatives within the market.
  • Coordinate market blitzes in various locations.
  • Provide account management, planning, and execution in chain and key accounts within the market.
  • Create and execute marketing promotions with customers, festivals, and events.
  • Utilize distributor data and reporting tools to identify opportunities for new or expanded distribution, lost sales, incremental volume increases, and other business insights.
  • Record sales activity and weekly results as required by the company, providing necessary back-up to support sales and bonus objectives.
  • Meet and maintain sales goals set regularly with the Regional Sales Director.
  • Maintain regular and consistent communication with FSRs, Regional Sales Director, Marketing Manager, Key Account Team, Sales Management Team, and other necessary parties.
  • Ensure the company’s quality standards are understood and enforced by distributors and retailers.
  • Maintain an understanding of all legal restrictions regarding company products in each market and ensure all initiatives are executed within those limitations.
  • Uphold a professional appearance, maintain a well-maintained and organized vehicle, and represent the company in a positive and reputable manner.
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
