About The Position

The University of Maine Cooperative Extension is seeking a collaborative and innovative Regenerative Agriculture Professional to support Maine's agricultural community in Aroostook County. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside commercial potato growers, University researchers, and agricultural partners to advance regenerative agriculture through research-based education, technical assistance, and community collaboration. The successful candidate will help strengthen connections between farmers and the University of Maine by providing practical solutions, identifying emerging needs, and developing educational programs that support resilient, productive, and sustainable agricultural systems. This is a two-year, fixed-length position.

Requirements

Master's Degree with a focus in agriculture or a closely related discipline.
Experience in teaching/training with adult audiences.
Ability to communicate effectively using oral, written, and electronic methods.
Demonstrated computer and educational technology skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in an autonomous work environment as well work effectively as part of a team, and able to achieve and document measurable results.
Demonstrated management, organizational, and facilitation skills, including the ability to handle conflict.
Demonstrated skills at collaborating with other agencies and organizations.
Ability to travel normally (within the State of Maine/both within and outside the State of Maine, etc.), requiring a valid driver's license.
Ability to occasionally lift 30 to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of University of Maine Cooperative Extension and its educational programs.
Knowledge of the commercial potato industry in Maine.
Demonstrated skills in designing and delivering community-based educational programs with an emphasis on subjects related to regenerative agriculture.
Demonstrated experience working with diverse audiences and knowledge of equal opportunity, affirmative action, and civil rights.
Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
