Starting salary ranges from $148,000 + DOE OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Leads, plans,organizes and manages the behavioral health services for the autism organization.Provides clinical oversight and work direction to Easter Seals Behavioralservices staff; including training/skills enhancement, clinical consultation,and professional development. Has overall responsibility for the budget,staffing, new development, service expansion, advocacy, parent and communityinvolvement. Ensures clinical operations, communications, quality and servicestandards are maintained and in compliance with clinical guidelines,contractual obligations, and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in early childhood education/development, early childhood special education, or psychology.
  • Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA); Doctoral-level BCBA (BCBA-D) preferred.
  • Current CPR certification card.
  • 5+ years of related professional experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and/or other related developmental disabilities, in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Including experience in planning, implementation, and management of behavioral health service programs.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience of multi-level teams.
  • Proficient knowledge of scientifically-validated methodologies and approaches found to benefit children with ASD; well- versed in current related research findings.
  • Strong expertise in approaches to intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Competent in employing and directing behavior analytic methodologies including Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Behavior Skills Training (BST), and Experimental Functional Analysis (EFA).
  • Strong clinical, administrative, and leadership skills.
  • Able to foster teamwork, effective monitoring, training and mentoring of staff.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and agencies that serve children.
  • Familiar with funding source plan design.
  • Able to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups.
  • Must relate well to children and their families and maintain positive affect.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and related computer software.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easter Seals Southern California (ESSC) and/or program requirements.
  • Ability to travel locally with reliable transportation, maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; have and maintain proper auto insurance and vehicle registration.
  • Ability to pass post-offer medical examination.
  • Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity.
  • Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees entire service delivery system and leads clinical team for the provision of regular home visits with children and families to provide specific parent education and in-home/community-based intervention activities or behavioral services for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and developmental disabilities.
  • Oversees the quality and consistency of individualized goals and plans as identified in the Individualized Behavior Plan, in conjunction with other program staff, as needed.
  • Develops and guides implementation of specialized training and instructional materials for all clinical associates; as well as quality practices and procedures for clinical operations.
  • Supports budget development, ensures productivity, project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets; ensures budget accountability with clinical supervisors/directors.
  • Manages resources, monitors and provides input into the billing process, reviews financial statements, and ensures that business processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reports results to VP, Behavioral Services.
  • Develops business plan, identifies business efficiencies and corrects inefficiencies, pursues opportunities for expansion.
  • Develops major goals, strategic plans, high-impact projects and objectives.
  • Oversees the implementation and coordination of resources to successfully complete projects.
  • Oversees staff development trainings, and participates in program planning sessions.
  • Conducts and attends regular meetings with direct reports and staff; assures that staff responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities are defined and understood.
  • Evaluates performance and monitors productivity of team members.
  • Oversees and ensures the completion of necessary documentation including participant evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports and exit summaries; and other related documentation.
  • Ensures timely report submission obligations.
  • Monitors contract compliance.
  • Oversees outcome measurement and continual program improvement; including partnering and collaborating with leaders and department heads across the organization to elevate performance, ensure alignment and consistency of clinical and operational strategy, and quality assurance of service delivery.
  • Partners with funding sources to ensure strong collaborative relationships.
  • Partners with Regional HR Director and clinical directors to ensure staffing needs are met, and escalated associate relations issues are handled, as necessary.
  • Complies with and enforces staff adherence to guidelines, standards, practices, policies, procedures, and regulations internal and external to ESSC.
  • Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in autism, special education, and related fields.
  • Other assignments that may need the associate’s expertise, knowledge or ability.
