About The Position

This role provides guidance related to regulatory matters, maintains relationships with regulatory bodies and agencies, and possesses significant expertise in industry regulatory matters. The specialist coordinates and conducts the assessment of internal controls to ensure compliance as required by regulatory commissions/authorities and prepares and sponsors testimony to governmental or regulatory agencies. This position requires working knowledge and experience in their job discipline and broadens capabilities, continuing to build knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. They perform a range of assignments related to their job discipline, using prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations, and receive a moderate level of guidance and direction with consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Arms Export Control Act (AECA)

Responsibilities

  • Reviews policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Tracks and interprets laws or regulations impacting the business and offers suggestions to functional managers seeking to ensure compliance.
  • Conducts periodic tests and audits of organizational operations.
  • Conducts initial reviews of alleged compliance violations and escalates to executive leadership as needed.
  • Coordinate local training requirements to ensure that site personnel are aware of their obligations under approved government authorizations and regulations governing their activities.
  • Review and approve foreign national site visits and international business travel requests.
  • Support HTS/HS classification and country-of-origin research under a specialist's guidance.
  • Assist in preparing internal audit reports, compliance training and compliance metrics.
  • Conduct restricted and denied party screening.
