About The Position

This position is Part-Time and it's located in Suitland, MD The core working hours are 8:00am to 12:00 pm, M-F The hourly wage is $25.53 This position requires that the employee must successfully complete criminal history information background check, and drug screening and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Under the supervision of the immediate supervisor, the Refuse Worker is responsible for litter pick up at the assigned areas in the scope of the contract.

Requirements

• Must be able to stand 80% of the work time and sit 20%.
• Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. and push/pull 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel and reach.
• Must be able to speak to communicate with supervisors, staff, co-workers, etc.
• Must possess good vision and hearing.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Must successfully complete criminal history information background check, and drug screening.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of experience in the field of contract work (e.g. custodial, grounds maintenance, etc.) is preferred.
• High School diploma and prior experience with individuals with differing abilities desirable or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Picks up litter along roads, sidewalks, plaza areas, steps and all other designated areas according to contract specifications.
• Empties designated trashcans.
• Performs variety of laboring duties within contract specifications.
• Follows all safety policies, including site safety regulations, roadside safety procedures, and emergency plans.
• Follows proper emergency procedures.
• Completes all mandatory trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
