About The Position

Seasonal Refuse Collection Workers - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. These positions are Temporary/Seasonal until approximately November 29. This is heavy manual work with exposure to outside environment in the collection of solid waste, recycling, and yard waste material. May operate a solid waste disposal collection truck along established routes. Work involves the collection of a wide variety of refuse, recycling materials, or special materials at homes and businesses in a safe and efficient manner. Takes waste to landfill or recycling center and deposits materials as directed, along with other tasks assigned related to the Sanitation Refuse Worker.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possession of a valid State of Michigan Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Collection of solid waste, recycling, and yard waste material.
• Operation of a solid waste disposal collection truck along established routes (may be required).
• Collection of a wide variety of refuse, recycling materials, or special materials at homes and businesses.
• Transporting waste to landfill or recycling center and depositing materials as directed.
• Performing other tasks assigned related to the Sanitation Refuse Worker role.
