Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social service, education, or related field
  • Experience in refugee or immigrant social services preferred
  • Bilingual a plus (especially in Arabic, Haitian Creole, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, or Ukrainian)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills as well as ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team, including with case workers, employment developers, interpreters and others
  • Sensitive to cultural differences of clients and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Able to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake and enrollment for new clients in a timely manner and consistent with funding and program requirements.
  • Monitor client activity participation through weekly tracking and data entry.
  • Assist with follow up of employed clients at specific times (ex. 30, 60, 90 days) to track retention progress.
  • Responsible for completion of semi-annual Family Self-Sufficiency Plan (FSSP) check-ups for all clients.
  • Assist with the completion of departmental and program reports on refugee employment outcomes.
  • Coordinate client assignments and case flows across the refugee employment team.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to client participation and record keeping across various programs.
  • Maintain accurate written and electronic records in accordance with funding and agency requirements.
  • Prepare case notes on all contacts with or on behalf of clients in a timely manner.
  • Participate in departmental staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Attend local, regional and national employment meetings and refugee resettlement conferences as needed.
  • Assume other related duties as assigned.
