About The Position

This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters. The role involves maintaining all aspects of the facility's industrial ammonia system, including exposure to water treatment chemicals with some guidance. It also includes completing preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility with minimal guidance and instruction. The technician will demonstrate proficiency in various systems and applications, such as computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), Process Safety Management, wastewater systems and operations. They will follow established processes and procedures to document completed work and conditions found, utilizing maintenance computer software. Operating forklifts and scissor lifts following standard production documentation is also part of the role. The technician may contribute to projects and pursue continuous improvement opportunities according to business strategy and supervisor. Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean work environment is crucial. Availability to work outside of normal shift hours, including weekends and off-shifts, is required. The role also requires willingness to wear a full-face breathing respirator mask and be part of the HAZMAT team. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United States without Visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Have the Ammonia Refrigeration Systems Certification – Operator Level 1

Nice To Haves

  • Experience effectively using typical industrial maintenance test and calibration equipment
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and other technical diagrams
  • Knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration, Compressed Air, Boiler, and Wastewater Systems
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems up to 480 VAC
