About The Position

Operates, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on all refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation equipment, and their components. This role is responsible for the connection, disconnection, and operation of plant utility equipment. The technician will interpret blueprints and diagrams, prepare work orders for installations, improvements, and repairs, and operate automatic control systems for air conditioning and ventilation equipment. They will utilize a computerized maintenance inventory system for spare parts and report all work performed through the maintenance management system. Maintaining assigned tools and equipment in good condition is essential, as is performing mechanical and refrigeration installations. Effective communication with customers is required, along with estimating necessary materials and requesting quotes. The role also involves ensuring that specifications for parts, products, projects, and services include environmental considerations and selecting new equipment with efficiency and energy conservation in mind. Participation in Operational Excellence Team activities for continuous improvement is expected, as is reporting and complying with the refrigerant and KORE environmental protection program.

Requirements

  • Diploma de Escuela Superior y grado asociado en refrigeración.
  • Licencia de Técnico de Refrigeración y Aire Acondicionado.
  • Licencia de Manejo de Refrigerantes EPA Universal.
  • Three to five years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and performs preventive maintenance on all HVAC, Steam, and compressed air equipment.
  • Responsible for connection, disconnection, and operation of plant utility equipment.
  • Repairs and provides preventive maintenance to air compressors, compressed air dryers, and boilers.
  • Interprets blueprints and diagrams of parts, equipment, and machinery.
  • Prepares work orders for installing, improving, and/or repairing equipment, machinery, and facilities.
  • Operates automatic control systems for air conditioning and ventilation equipment.
  • Utilizes the computerized maintenance inventory system for spare parts to perform transactions of parts used.
  • Reports all work performed using the maintenance management system.
  • Maintains assigned tools and equipment in good condition.
  • Performs mechanical and refrigeration installations on equipment and machinery.
  • Maintains effective communication with customers.
  • Estimates necessary materials to complete the job and requests quotes for materials.
  • Ensures specifications for parts, products, projects, and services include environmental considerations and selects new equipment considering efficiency and energy conservation.
  • Participates and promotes activities with the Operational Excellence Team focused on continuous improvement (5’s, workplace audits, T cards, Idea cards, Big C, Tip Plan, Communication Center, etc.).
  • Reports and complies with the refrigerant and KORE environmental protection program.
