Operates, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance on all refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation equipment, and their components. This role is responsible for the connection, disconnection, and operation of plant utility equipment. The technician will interpret blueprints and diagrams, prepare work orders for installations, improvements, and repairs, and operate automatic control systems for air conditioning and ventilation equipment. They will utilize a computerized maintenance inventory system for spare parts and report all work performed through the maintenance management system. Maintaining assigned tools and equipment in good condition is essential, as is performing mechanical and refrigeration installations. Effective communication with customers is required, along with estimating necessary materials and requesting quotes. The role also involves ensuring that specifications for parts, products, projects, and services include environmental considerations and selecting new equipment with efficiency and energy conservation in mind. Participation in Operational Excellence Team activities for continuous improvement is expected, as is reporting and complying with the refrigerant and KORE environmental protection program.
