About The Position

E&E Foods is launching a search for Refrigeration Technician at our Pacific Star plant in Kenai, Alaska. This job requires an experienced refrigeration technician that has experience maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment using both freon and ammonia such as blast cells and tunnels, ice machines (specifically Buus and NorthStar M-series) and RSW systems in the plant, which includes compressors, control valves, pumps and electrical and electronics associated with the operation of pumps and motor controls. Finally, the successful candidate will be a team player with the ability to handle deadline driven environments. The successful candidate: The Refrigeration Technician must have previous refrigeration maintenance experience, salmon process blast/tunnel freezing experience & knowledge with industrial ice machines and basic maintenance skills. They must be self-directed, well organized and comfortable in a diverse living and working environment. In addition, they must be willing to work in a remote location under, at times, challenging conditions

Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience as a refrigeration technician
  • Advanced Refrigeration Knowledge
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must show availability to work in the USA
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to take direction and respond to feedback
  • Able to work in fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Must be able to stand, walk and work for 12+ hours, 7 days a week.
  • ·Advanced knowledge of mechanical field and skills(hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, fabricating, etc.)
  • Complex System Troubleshooting
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems
  • EPA 608 certification required

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment.
  • Assist with the repairing and maintaining plant equipment and machinery including generators, fish processing equipment, deck cranes, blast freezers, refrigerant-containing equipment, fish pumps, forklifts, and company vehicles.
  • Assisting with the operation of the ammonia or Freon refrigeration systems.
  • Maintaining current and accurate documentation of refrigeration and maintenance activities.
  • Develop familiarity with, and carrying out all tasks in accordance too standard operating procedures (SOPs), OSHA standards, environmental compliance requirements, and emergency response procedures.
  • Collaborate with the safety manager to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards in the workplace.
