Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
  • Computer literacy.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work day or night shifts as needed, including overtime and emergencies.
  • Ability to respond to direct and radio requests as soon as possible.
  • Ability to maintain proper neat uniform appearance of Company provided work shirt and employee provided clean blue jeans without holes or tears.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment as required, including arc flash and safety glasses.
  • Ability to read and comprehend manuals, prints, and work orders.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment maintenance.
  • General record keeping skills.
  • Customer service orientation and sensitivity to diverse needs of coworkers, employees, and other persons contacted in the daily course of work.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of building-related vocational-technical programs are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, retrofitting, and building of refrigeration equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshooting refrigeration systems, wiring, controls, piping, and valves during installation.
  • Pipe fitting with knowledge of installation requirements for piping slope, traps, valve, and system component installation within refrigeration systems.
  • Operating an oxygen acetylene torch to braze copper and dissimilar metals.
  • Recovering refrigerant, pumping down, evacuating, and leak testing refrigeration systems.
  • Performing electrical diagnosis and possessing electrical wiring knowledge.
  • Interpreting blueprints, including the layout and installation of piping, cases, and coils in walk-in boxes.
  • Installing drain lines for cases and walk-in evaporator coils.
  • Charging systems with refrigerant and setting superheat through proper valve adjustment.
  • Maintaining company and manufacturer specifications during installation of refrigeration equipment and components, including local and state codes.
  • Operating scissor lifts, forklifts, and other equipment proficiently and safely.
  • Performing administrative tasks such as ordering material, writing purchase orders, material and equipment take-offs, and data entry for refrigerant reports.
  • Managing job communications with office managers, store associates, coworkers, and outside contractors.
  • Maintaining an organized, neat, clean, and safe work environment in mechanical rooms, sales floors, roofs, service vehicles, etc.
  • Performing all duties in a safe, timely, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Performing start-ups on various system types.
  • Adjusting system set points through various refrigeration management systems.
