We are looking for a Refrigeration B Operator to join our team at our manufacturing facility located in Brantford, Ontario. This role is currently open due to an existing vacancy. Requirements

  • Class “B” Refrigeration Operator certification
  • Experience within a TSSA-regulated ammonia facility
  • Knowledge and experience on Ammonia Refrigeration Systems
  • 2-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing plant
  • Ability to work weekends as required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food manufacturing industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe operations of the refrigeration plant.
  • Maintain and operate ammonia refrigeration system, HVAC, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Complete routine inspection and testing of equipment and infrastructure to ensure proper operations.
  • Monitor and maintain water treatment for boiler systems, chillers, and cooling towers.
  • Document readings on plant equipment including boilers, water and gas consumption.
  • Preform sampling and testing for Waste Water Treatment.
  • Perform repairs and general maintenance duties associated with the refrigeration and boiler systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical breakdown relating to the utilities to ensure minimal impact to production.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring the facility is operating in accordance with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA).
  • Complete work orders and apply corrective measures in a timely manner.
  • Assist other members of the maintenance team with repairs, preventative maintenance tasks, and minor building repairs.
  • Follow all prescribed Safety, SOPs, HACCP, and GMP procedures.
  • Ability to work in noisy conditions, in a cold environment and occasionally from heights.
