About The Position

The Opportunity: You perform skilled journey-level work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration, air-conditioning, and chilled water equipment, systems, and controls. Additional Information: This is a full-time (100%), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Monthly Salary: $5,376 to $6,229 Monthly | Range 50G (Steps G-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Requirements

  • Journeyman standing as a Refrigeration Mechanic as attested by: Completion of recognized apprenticeship OR full journeyman status in Plumbers AND Pipefitters’ Union OR five years of experience in State service as full time helper to a journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
  • Refrigeration Trade School Diploma.
  • EPA Refrigerant Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Four years journey-level experience in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
  • Experience using all types of power tools & equipment utilized in troubleshooting & maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems.
