Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of related refrigeration maintenance experience with advanced electrical and mechanical skills
• Ability to safely don and operate air-purifying respirators (APR) and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
• Must be able to obtain forklift and boiler licenses as required for job functions.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and be committed to following all company and OSHA safety policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• two-year degree in a specialized maintenance trade preferred
• strongly preferred in an ammonia refrigeration environment
• HAZMAT certification preferred
• CIRO is a big plus!

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems including air conditioners, compressors, evaporators, and boilers to ensure optimal functionality and safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex refrigeration equipment issues such as ammonia compressors, CO2 and freezer temperature monitors, and electrical components including I/O modules, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Potentially help manage refrigeration parts inventory; order necessary components and maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
• Lead setup, teardown, fabrication, and installation of plant equipment, supporting major repairs and construction projects related to stationary machinery and building infrastructure.
• Adhere to strict safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, and Fall Protection, and actively participate in Hazmat training and emergency response teams.
