This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all mechanical refrigeration equipment including heat pumps, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, window ACs, split system ACs, and small reciprocating chillers. The right candidate will be proficient in direct expansion refrigeration troubleshooting and repair, familiar with mechanical construction drawings, and able to interpret pneumatic control drawings. They will also be proficient with air flow hood and velometer, perform minor repairs on steam sterilizers, and calculate heating and cooling loads. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing RTUs, heat pumps, refrigerators, small reciprocating compressors, ice machines, water cooled freezers, and split system units. Proficiency with incline manometer/pitor tube/velometer is required, as is maintaining CFC certification. The role involves interpreting electrical control ladder diagrams and using a multi-meter and clamp on AMP meter. Familiarity with interpreting refrigeration charts and using proper pressure gauges is also necessary. The position requires proficiency in using the energy management system (EMS) to access and troubleshoot refrigeration equipment, interpret DDC control drawings and points lists, and access/override all points. Performing P.M. tasks includes accessing, changing tasks, and recording history, checking operating parameters, and performing PM tasks on various refrigeration units. The role also involves applying all health standards, accessing and recording history on the PM System, and adjusting belts. Mechanical repairs and maintenance include general soldering, familiarity with life safety requirements, and OSHA requirements for safety. Proficiency with small hand tools, tachometer, ordering parts, communicating with vendors, and torch brazing are also key aspects of the role.
