About The Position

The Lead Refrigeration Coordinator will play a key role in installing, maintaining, repairing, and optimizing refrigeration and HVAC systems across multiple store locations. This position involves performing periodic maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing rack refrigeration systems, as well as HVAC equipment. In addition to these core technical duties, you will be tasked with ordering refrigerant and tracking its usage. Alongside routine repairs and maintenance duties, you will evaluate proposals and work orders via the ServiceChannel platform, offering informed recommendations on pricing and ordering necessary parts. This role also involves traveling to multiple locations throughout the Denver Metro and possibly out of state areas to conduct critical repair and maintenance work along with online/remote adjustments of refrigeration equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Refrigeration Technician or Coordinator within a supermarket or retail environment including CO2 systems required.
  • Strong understanding of supermarket rack refrigeration systems, refrigeration cases, frozen cases, standalone systems, HVAC units, and related equipment including CO2 systems.
  • Experience working with and programming Emerson controllers.
  • Experience working with HVAC systems and components with a strong understanding of Trane equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to travel to various sites within the Denver Metro area and possibly out of state.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Universal EPA Certification for Refrigerant handling required.
  • HVAC/R certification required

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of rack refrigeration and standalone systems along with HVAC equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within refrigeration and HVAC systems to minimize downtime.
  • Adjusting refrigeration equipment settings remotely and onsite.
  • Being on call for store emergencies to make remote adjustments and advising stores and providers of the necessary steps to take to keep the system operational.
  • Review and manage work orders and proposals within the ServiceChannel platform ensuring timely and accurate updates along with real-time service approvals for providers.
  • Offering informed recommendations on pricing and necessary parts.
  • Proactively coordinate with provider account and service managers to resolve recurring or warranty related issues, driving cost savings and minimizing equipment downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and EPA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Travel to multiple locations within the Denver Metro and possibly other areas out of state to complete on-site repairs and regular maintenance.
  • Work with hand tools, digital tools, and other specialized equipment to complete repair tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, including detailed descriptions of services rendered, parts replaced, time spent on each task, refrigerant logging and tracking, and ordering of refrigerant for locations.
  • Collaborate with the team and providers to address any equipment failures and ensure quick resolution of issues.
  • Respond to repair requests as needed to minimize disruptions to store operations.
