About The Position

This facility operates six days a week and produces sausage crumbles and dry sausage. Leveling (pay) is determined during the interview process based on skillset, knowledge, and experience. We are offering a $5000 sign on bonus for new hires. The bonus is paid out in $2500 following completion of 90 days and $2500 at completion of 180 days. Rehires are not eligible for sign on bonus.

Requirements

  • Have the ability to understand and follow specific verbal and written instructions and procedures.
  • Have effective communications skills, including specification/technical writing skills.
  • Are familiar with preventative maintenance programs.
  • Can complete all required training for the job.
  • Have experience working with Anhydrous Ammonia systems, including mechanical & electrical repairs (Ammonia Response Training preferred).
  • ARE able to obtain SCBA certification and use fully encapsulated chemical suit in emergency.
  • ARE able to travel and attend training (1-2 trips per year).
  • ARE able to pass IIAR Training modules for ammonia refrigeration.
  • Have PSM experience.
  • 1 year industrial maintenance, electrical training and 1 year of ammonia refrigeration or HVAC operator experience.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be willing and able to lift and carry 50 pounds or more.
  • The Team Member will walk or stand on hard floors for 8-12 hour days.
  • The Team Member will regularly be required to stand, stoop, climb ladders, change work levels, twist, squat, climb stairs, reach, push, pull, and move about the facility.
  • The Team Member will move from one area of production to another.
  • The Team Member will work in a cold, damp to hot environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assure that all safety precautions and health hazards with ammonia are followed per Tyson requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal and local agencies, including but not limited to OSHA and the EPA.
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot and repair the following: HOWDEN, SULLAIR, & MYCOM Ammonia Compressors, condensers, valve stations.
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot and repair: Heat exchangers, pump packages, liquid ammonia pumps.
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot and repair: Air units, refrigeration PLC and all control components.
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot and repair: Boilers.
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot and repair: Air Compressors.
  • Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot and repair: Hot Water System.
  • Maintain these components in the best operating condition to provide adequate temperatures required by Food Industry Standards.
  • Participate as an Emergency Response Team Member.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
