About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Refrigeration / Boiler Room Operator to maintain and monitor refrigeration, boiler, HVAC, and related plant systems in a busy manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have prior boiler operator experience and strong troubleshooting skills. Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly preferred. This is a union position with competitive pay, an attendance incentive, and opportunities for overtime.

Requirements

Prior boiler operator experience required
Minimum of 2 years of refrigeration maintenance or related experience preferred/required
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems strongly preferred
Knowledge of plant safety and GMP requirements
Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and plans
Knowledge of planned maintenance practices
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
Strong communication and organizational skills
Basic computer and spreadsheet skills
Ability to complete work and purchase requests
RETA Level 1 Industrial experience preferred
Must be able to work scheduled hours and required overtime

Nice To Haves

Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is highly preferred
RETA Level 1 Industrial experience preferred

Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain boiler, refrigeration, HVAC, and related plant systems
Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration equipment involving ammonia and other refrigerants
Perform daily inspections and operational checks of refrigeration and plant equipment
Monitor ammonia refrigeration systems, coolers, HVAC systems, and related equipment
Perform scheduled maintenance on evaporators, condensers, and other refrigeration equipment
Monitor, clean, and repair plant systems including condensers and filtration systems
Identify equipment issues and perform repairs to minimize downtime
Change and clean filters as needed
Maintain accurate equipment logs, records, checklists, and other required documentation
Follow OSHA, EPA, GMP, and plant safety requirements
Follow all Lockout/Tagout and other required safety procedures
Request parts and supplies as needed
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Complete required paperwork and maintenance documentation
