About The Position
Are you passionate about solving complex challenges in the steel industry? As an Ironmaking & Reheat Specialist, you will serve as a key technical expert supporting customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders across Canada. Working closely with Sales, R&D, Operations, and Recycling teams, you will optimize refractory solutions, support innovation, and drive sustainable growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in refractories, ironmaking, or related steel industry applications.
- Strong understanding of refractory technologies and steelmaking processes.
- Ability to work safely in heavy industrial environments and follow OSHA requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude and field support experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Advanced Microsoft 365 skills.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced degree preferred.
- SAP experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate refractory product trials and evaluations at customer facilities.
- Partner with customers and commercial teams to optimize refractory performance and troubleshoot challenges.
- Deliver technical training programs for sales teams and customers.
- Collaborate with R&D on product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recommend refractory materials and lining designs based on customer requirements.
- Support Operations, product transfer initiatives, and sustainability goals.
- Travel extensively throughout Canada to support customers and projects.
