About The Position

The Electrical Planner is responsible for converting work requests to work orders, prepares cost and man-hour estimates, developing detailed job plans (including supporting documentation) and determining required material. The Electrical Planner provides updates to the Routine Maintenance manager on the status of the work and provides data for Key Performance Indicators to help drive improved performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Journeyman Electrician License required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an Electrician in maintenance or construction required with refinery experience preferred.
  • Clean and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed work packages, procure materials, allocate resources and rental equipment needed for job.
  • Facilitates planning deliverables for work practices (i.e., RSP-1400).
  • Leads backlog reviews and collaborate with Area Team on priority and accuracy.
  • Ensures Quality Control requirements are included in work planning.
  • Ensures proper expense class allocation consistent with the Cost Consistency practice.
  • Collaborates with Project Controls for proper cost forecasting and budget compliance.
  • Collaborate with Area Teams on KPI reviews and improvement ideas.
  • Ensure Safety, PSM, and Environmental compliance dates are met.
  • Supports PSM processes such as MOC and incident investigations.
  • Plans and coordinates the development of work orders with operating unit foremen for facilities in assigned area.
  • Consults engineers prior to any field changes in design, or specifications and requests changes in procedure to complete work.
  • Work to control maintenance costs and to increase mechanical availability.
  • Develop a planning library of job plans for future use to be more efficient planning recurring and detailed jobs.
  • Actively manage safety work notifications to ensure they are completed or mitigated in a timely manner (< 30 days).
  • Identify and communicate recurring equipment failures to the Reliability engineer and other team members.
