About The Position

This role involves taking ownership of customer needs to help them operate safely and efficiently, providing a vital service that supports successful refinery operations. The Downstream Chemical Team leverages advanced chemistry, digital tools, and industry experience to deliver value to customers by improving water and process treatment applications within refineries, enabling safe, reliable, and optimized operations. As a Refinery Process Account Manager, you will build trusted customer relationships while delivering technical and commercial support for refinery chemical programs. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams to drive value, identify growth opportunities, and ensure consistent, high-quality program execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in hydrocarbon process treatment and/or industrial water treatment (wastewater, boilers, cooling towers).
  • Solid understanding of industrial chemical treatment technologies and the sales process.
  • Mechanical aptitude and effective troubleshooting skills.
  • Prior laboratory experience and/or familiarity with analytical methods and data interpretation.
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and refinery market conditions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to internal teams and external customers at various organizational levels.
  • Current work authorization in the country of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Building long-term, strategic customer relationships to originate sales opportunities and develop business growth strategies.
  • Supporting field activities including sampling, testing, application maintenance, and routine performance reporting.
  • Supporting the development, installation, and optimization of systems and designs used to apply chemical products and technologies.
  • Partnering with Sales and Engineering teams to develop and deliver customer presentations focused on value creation and process improvement.
  • Providing account management fundamentals to understand customer needs, requirements, and potential sales opportunities while supporting account budget and P&L processes.
  • Identifying and coordinating projects of varying complexity to deliver measurable customer value.
  • Monitoring and maintaining existing customer programs, including tracking performance and documenting application results.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional team members to drive technical sales and innovative solutions.
