About The Position

The Referrals Specialist plays a key role in supporting Sidekick’s school-based services by managing and processing client referrals from intake through completion. This position ensures all orders are handled accurately, TennCare verifications are completed and distributed in a timely manner, and documentation meets all compliance standards. In addition, this role will support front-desk coverage, as needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, multitasking, and working in a fast-paced environment with a mission-driven team.

Requirements

Prior experience in administrative healthcare operations preferred.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and switch between tasks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to learn and navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

Monitor referral progress and follow up when needed.
Receive, review, and process physician orders and patient documentation.
Ensure all documents meet state, insurance, and internal compliance standards.
Verify documents are properly labeled, complete, and assigned to the correct patient.
Process school orders for TennCare and School Pay clients.
Complete insurance verifications for TennCare and commercial plans.
Follow up on Problem Alerts, Failed Documents, and Stopped Orders.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve documentation or verification needs promptly.
Identify opportunities to improve referral workflows and efficiency
Assist with front-desk coverage, as needed
