Requirements

Minimum of GED/High School diploma required
Strong organizational skills
Strong customer service skills
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Nice To Haves

Associates degree
Prior insurance carrier terminology experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

Coordinate referral submission and retrieval via EPIC and other electronic systems as well as the internet.
Check scheduled appointments for required referral numbers and if missing, takes corrective action and notifies the appropriate person.
Provides training as assigned in all aspects of referral requirements and completion to appropriate new and existing employees.
Promptly reports payer system and or referral issues to lead and/or Supervisor.
Answers phone calls and correspondence proving requested information for appropriate follow up.
Demonstrates excellent customer service skill for both internal and external customers.
Maintains strict confidentiality related to patient health information in accordance with HIPAA compliance.
Assists with and completes projects and other duties as assigned.
