The Referral RN in the Access department is a registered nurse who assesses and evaluates patients' charts who are being considered for admission to the hospital, takes physician orders, and reviews medication reconciliation with the physician and/or Assessment RN following the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Must have good clinical skills and be able to work independently with minimum supervision. The role involves working with children, adolescents, adults, and senior populations, requiring familiarity with common diagnoses and specific assessment and interviewing skills for each group. The RN will call physicians for admission and medication orders, collaborate with the Assessment RN for medication verification, and report any signs or symptoms of infection, illness, or medical instability to the physician after assessment. This is a full-time, non-exempt role.
