This role is responsible for managing department referrals, serving as a liaison, appointment coordinator, and patient advocate. The position involves conducting data analyses to track patient compliance, monitoring work queues, and communicating with departments to resolve discrepancies. It also includes acquiring insurance authorization, documenting communications, performing needs assessments, and coordinating ancillary testing. The role requires preparing complex details for insurance carriers to obtain prior authorizations, anticipating insurer questions, and resolving authorization obstacles. Additionally, it involves managing orders for patients seen in ED/Urgent Care, processing outgoing referrals, and ensuring Meaningful Use requirements are met, including electronic transfer of the Summary of Care.
