About The Position

The Practice Referral Coordinator is responsible for requesting, tracking, documenting and obtaining insurance verification, benefits, authorizations and referrals. Requirements

  • Minimum six (6) months of experience in a medical office/practice setting handling insurance verifications, authorizations and referrals
  • High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of computers and scanners
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional communication
  • Ability to work independently and direct own work within stated productivity standards
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills
  • Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards and respect
  • Ability to advance care through development of new ideas and technology
  • Ability to promote teamwork to achieve CHOC’s mission
  • Ability to understand and exceed customer expectations and effectively solve complex patient care and organizational problems

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of general medical terminology, insurance eligibility processes and procedure and diagnostic coding
  • Bilingual: English/ Spanish
