About The Position

The Oncology Infusion Referral Coordinator is responsible for specialty patient referrals, preauthorizations, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external requests for information, as well as provides general office support for providers and other department staff. This specialty position initiates and monitors treatment authorizations, as well as incoming and outgoing referrals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Six (6) months of experience working with various insurance referrals, authorizations, and documentation needs

Nice To Haves

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Oncology and Related Medical Practice Terminology
• Knowledge of basic medical coverage plans including HMO, PPO, State programs and other types of coverage
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Experience using Electronic Medical Record software
• One (1) year direct related experience or training in an Oncology practice or other specialty clinic
