About The Position
The Part-time Reference Librarian works in the Reference and Circulation departments of the Library, otherwise known as Access Services, to assist students, faculty, and the public with the use of information resources for instructional research. This position requires Sunday evenings, one weeknight per week, and being on call as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of one year working in a library or related setting
- Experience with personal computers, photocopiers/scanners, library information systems, overhead projectors and audio/visual equipment
- Customer-service oriented
- Self-directed
Nice To Haves
- Master of Library Science or Master of Library Information Science
Responsibilities
- Provides reference assistance to library patrons in using books, journals, and other printed resources in the collection
- Assist patrons with accessing databases, e-books, and e-magazines
- Assists with online public access catalog (OPAC) for book holdings information
- Circulation desk assistance
- Other duties as assigned
