About The Position

Assist and support the Dean of Library Services; deliver research and reference services to patrons, guiding them in accessing and utilizing the library's print and digital resource collections; design and deliver information literacy instruction sessions and serve as the library liaison to designated academic departments; contribute to the development and maintenance of the library's website to enhance user experience.

Requirements

A master's degree in library science, information science, or equivalent from an ALA-accredited program
Previous teaching or information literacy experience in an academic library setting.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills; strategic and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

Provide research assistance to students, faculty, staff, and community patrons in-person and via phone, email, and chat services, including LibAnswers, LibChat, and virtual research consultations.
Serve as liaison and provide reference and instruction services to graduate and upper-division undergraduate students and faculty across disciplines, including Health Sciences, Education, Counseling, and the College of Professional Studies.
Collaborate with faculty to support student research.
Create and maintain subject and course-specific research guides.
Create and update tutorials and other online learning objects.
Maintain and update the library's website.
Participate in professional workshops, conferences, and meetings.
Serve on University Committees.
Provides building supervision and reference on nights and weekends, as needed.
Other duties, as assigned.
