About The Position

PHX Fray is seeking a part-time Softball Coordinator/Host. The ideal candidate is fun, outgoing, energetic, reliable, and loves team and bar sports, with a background in playing, coaching, or refereeing. This role requires someone who can work without direct supervision, solve problems, handle dynamic situations calmly, and maintain a fun, sociable demeanor. The primary mission of Coordinators/Hosts is to make league night the best night of the week for members by leading on the field, setting the tone, and embodying the United Fray brand. They are naturally enthusiastic, outgoing, and ready to play, making fun possible through various activities like creating league trophies, bringing speakers, or starting games at sponsor bars. Coordinators/Hosts are expected to attend every game, ensure rules are followed, and manage event setup and tear down. They also serve as brand ambassadors, capturing and sharing content from leagues.

  • Commitment for the entire season (7-week season for Bar Sports; 8-week season for Team Sports)
  • Ability to get to scheduled game 30 minutes early
  • Ability to update the scores on a nightly basis (smartphone)
  • Ability to create a hospitable environment, provide organization, cheerleading, and general oversight of games in their league
  • Ability to attend New Hire Orientation and League Training
  • Ability to send at least 1 weekly e-mail to communicate any changes, game times, news, or upcoming events (for coordinators, or if the league only has one host)
  • Ability to maintain league equipment bag during the season when applicable (for coordinators)

Nice To Haves

  • Any ref licensing or accreditation is encouraged but not required for team sports
  • Ideally commit for more than 1 season

Responsibilities

  • Produce a fun and energetic experience for all players involved
  • Act as a brand ambassador for PHX Fray
  • Run nightly operations for sports leagues, including field/location set up and break down
  • Referee/host games
  • Transport equipment if needed
  • Track scores
  • Communicate with players
  • Execute evening tasks
  • Act as the local “FACE” of PHX Fray
  • Lead on the field, set the tone, and embody the United Fray brand
  • Provide leadership to ensure that everyone is following the rules of the game
  • Be hands-on with respect to set up and tear down of events
  • Get content while at leagues and tag the company
