About The Position
Carris Reels is seeking quality-minded, dependable individuals to join our talented team of Employee Owners at our West Rutland Assembly Division. This division has Support/Prep, Shipping, Tube Making, and Assembly departments. These key positions require working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, assembling wood reels for the wire and cable industry. Long periods of standing, attention to safe practices, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work in a team setting are also required.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform simple shop math.
- Must be able to lift and/or move materials or finished product up to 50 pounds.
- Required to stand, bend, lift arms, and reach.
Nice To Haves
- Interpersonal and group communications skills are necessary.
- Be familiar with, and use, measuring tools.
Responsibilities
- Follow established methods and procedures necessary to build a wooden reel.
- Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules and customer specifications with minimum supervision.
- Build wood reels using hand and pneumatic tools.
- Read and interpret customer spec cards and maintain production flow.
- Clean and maintain the work area.
- Follow prescribed safety regulations including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Report defective materials, or questionable conditions, to the department supervisor.
