About The Position

The Reefer Dispatcher plays a critical role in managing and coordinating refrigerated freight shipments across the United States, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of temperature-sensitive goods. This position requires overseeing the scheduling and routing of refrigerated trucks, maintaining communication with drivers, and monitoring shipment progress to prevent delays or spoilage. The dispatcher acts as a liaison between clients, drivers, and warehouse personnel to optimize load assignments and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Success in this role directly impacts customer satisfaction and the operational efficiency of the transportation network. Ultimately, the Reefer Dispatcher ensures that perishable products reach their destinations in optimal condition, supporting the supply chain's integrity and reliability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in freight dispatching, preferably with refrigerated or temperature-controlled shipments.
• Strong knowledge of transportation logistics and regulatory requirements related to refrigerated freight.
• Proficiency in using dispatch and tracking software.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills daily to manage multiple shipments simultaneously while ensuring compliance with temperature control standards.
• Effective communication skills are essential for coordinating between drivers, clients, and warehouse teams to resolve issues promptly and maintain smooth operations.
• Proficiency with dispatch software and tracking technologies enables real-time monitoring and efficient route adjustments.
• Analytical skills help in optimizing routes and load assignments to maximize efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements ensures that all shipments meet safety and legal standards, protecting both the company and its customers.

• Experience working with national or regional refrigerated freight carriers.
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and food safety standards such as HACCP.
