About The Position

At MDI, we power one of the largest dairy operations in Winnipeg — producing Milk Protein Concentrate and Butter Products around the clock. As a Red Seal Electrician (Maintenance), you’ll play a critical role in keeping our plant running 24/7. From troubleshooting complex systems to maintaining essential equipment, your work directly impacts uptime, product quality, and team success. This is hands-on, meaningful work — where your expertise shows up every shift. This position will work on a continental 12-hour (6:30pm – 6:30am) night shift schedule to support a 24/7/365 operation. Call-ins and overtime due to breakdowns and scheduled maintenance or projects may be required.

Requirements

• Red Seal Electrician certification (Industrial Electrician preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical and mechanical systems
• Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley), CMMS systems, and plant automation
• Solid understanding of safety standards (Lockout, Confined Space, WHMIS) and quality systems (HACCP, GMP, ISO)
• A flexible, team-oriented approach — with the ability to support after-hours needs when required

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliable performance of plant equipment and electrical systems
• Monitor and maintain utilities, control panels, and building systems
• Complete preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and components
• Respond to breakdowns and urgent repairs with speed and precision
• Support continuous operation in a 24/7 production environment
• Install and commission new and existing equipment
• Support maintenance planning and scheduling activities
• Contribute to improving reliability and efficiency across the plant
• Assist with mechanical repairs and general maintenance tasks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
• Maintain strong communication between shifts and departments
