About The Position

Under limited supervision, the Recycling Technician operates, maintains, and troubleshoots recycling and waste-processing equipment and materials. The role calls for a creative, proactive contributor focused on continuous improvement. The technician follows safety, health, security, and written processing procedures while handling waste and recycling materials.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one to three years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a powered industrial truck (PIT/forklift) to retrieve waste and recycling bins throughout the warehouse.
• Troubleshoot and conduct periodic inspections of waste-processing and recycling equipment.
• Follow preventive maintenance instructions and properly document maintenance records.
• Use manual or powered hand tools as needed to assist with waste processing and equipment maintenance.
• Process waste and recycling materials according to written procedures, including moving and weighing materials with a floor scale and loading them onto a truck or into a compactor or processing machine.
• Follow safety and health rules and regulations associated with the position and as directed by the supervisor.
• Comply with company security procedures.
