About The Position

We are seeking a diligent and reliable individual for the position of Recycling Sorter to join our team. This role involves contributing to the efficient sorting and processing of recyclable materials (including various grades of paper and container products). This position also includes ensuring the quality of recyclables and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The ideal candidate will be able to make decisions in the absence of established policies, handle physical tasks with stamina, and manage mental focus for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
  • High School graduate or GED certificate.
  • Must be able to operate applicable equipment.
  • Ability to continually lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Sorting various grades of loose paper and container products.
  • Classify materials into appropriate categories to ensure effective recycling.
  • Further sort materials by product type to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance to assure premium grades of finished baled products.
  • Maintain consistent performance in sorting tasks, operating within a continuous feed conveyor system.
  • Maintain accurate work unit files and records related to sorting activities.
  • Report any questionable items or quality-related concerns to supervisors for further action.
  • Follow housekeeping procedures to keep the facility and surrounding property clean and orderly.
  • Occasionally use a forklift to move and empty collection containers.
