The pay rate or range for this position is: $22.38 per hour Job Summary Reporting to the Site Manager, our general laborer performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, sorting, lifting and moving materials for recycling, disposal or storage. Assists in a wide variety of functions involving manual labor tasks as needed. This position works under direct supervision of the Operations Manager.

Requirements

• Well organized, team oriented and highly motivated
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in maintenance work
• Must be able to follow directions and perform work per instructions.
• Must be able to follow building maps to locate work areas
• Strong communication skills
• Be able to communicate with co-workers and/or customers and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• One (1) year work experience as a general laborer preferred
• Must be able to work day and overnight shift assignments
• Be able to pass criminal background requirements
• Must have a valid driver’s license, and possess and maintain a good driving record.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance and operations personnel in performing routine duties
• Perform repetitive movement with moderate to heavy lifting
• Perform general clean-up in all operational areas of worksite – maintaining neat and clean work area
• Report any potential operational or safety problems to supervisor
• Must adhere to all company and governmental safety rules, regulations and practices
• Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers
• Must be able to work shift work – seven days a week – if required
• Must rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of this job
