About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a Recruitment Coordinator in the School of Public Health [R0150706]. ROLE of the POSITION The position of Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for researching, developing and implementing detailed annual recruitment plans for the School of Public Health working in conjunction with the central UNLV Admission Office. This requires a keen awareness of market trends, demographic shifts and recruitment strategies and technologies being utilized by competing institutions, as well as the ability to synthesize this information to make appropriate determinations of strategies to be employed in specific recruitment territories. The Coordinator must also possess the ability to establish a strong rapport with colleagues in the college and across campus, as well as supervise a team of student ambassadors. The Recruitment Coordinator will annually collect, monitor and analyze student enrollment data and conversion rates at all points of the admission funnel and give periodic reports to college leadership. This position will also monitor all travel cost projections and expenditure tracking for both in and out-of-state recruitment travel. The Coordinator will also be charged with developing and ensuring the implementation of all recruitment plans for targeted populations, including but not limited to underrepresented and/or online students. These will be assessed and updated annually. The Recruitment Coordinator will maintain a high level of internal and external public contact serving as a liaison between the School of Public Health, the UNLV Office of Admissions, other organizations within the University and with public constituents. The Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for outreach efforts for the recruitment of all undergraduate and/or graduate students for the School of Public Health. These efforts include, but are not limited to, the following: admissions presentations, hosting workshops for prospective students and families, participating in on- and off-campus recruitment events to provide admission assistance/guidance, meeting with prospective students and families on campus, making calls to prospects and inquiries for admission counseling and proactively communicating with admitted students to encourage and ensure matriculation. The Coordinator will articulate eligibility for admission based on the ability to understand and interpret NSHE and UNLV policy. Finally, this position is responsible for providing leadership in carrying out special initiatives as assigned by leadership team in the college and will be expected to travel both in and out of state and work irregular hours and weekends.

Requirements

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-3 years of experience as it relates to student engagement, recruitment, and customer service.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, applicants may qualify with four additional years of relevant experience, or with an associate's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience.
  • For positions requiring a master’s degree, acceptable equivalents include: Six additional years of relevant experience A bachelor’s degree plus two additional years of relevant experience An associate degree plus four additional years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • In Collaboration with Senior Leadership, develop, implement, and assess specific recruitment plans, strategies, and tactics for one or more of the following objectives/target areas: in-state/resident freshman and transfer/non-traditional student recruitment, out-of-state/non-resident freshman and transfer/non-traditional student recruitment, online and graduate recruitment.
  • Develop and manage on and off campus events related to college recruitment; will include but not limited to open houses, receptions, tours, and information sessions/presentations during all stages of the application cycle
  • Direct staffing and personnel actions for student employees. Effectively coach, monitor and evaluate student staff (if applicable). Identify needs and develop strategies to promote excellence through training and supervision.
  • Coordinate opportunities to involve students and/or staff in recruitment activities, such as tours, panels and representation at local, state and national events.
  • Provides career and academic counseling, planning, and advising to potential students utilizing specific knowledge gained of the university colleges, educational programs and degrees.
  • Coordinate events with Public Health organizations and community partners, assist with awareness of Public Health students, educators, and employees.
  • Convey complex information about admission requirements, academic requirements, financial aid, and state policies to a wide audience that includes parents, teachers, counselors, high school principals, community college staff and other relevant parties.
  • Maintain contact with students through various modes of communication including written letters, email, and phone calls. Utilize central Admissions CRM tool to track and store interactions and communications with prospective students.
  • Serves as key liaison for college with high schools, other academic institutions, and community partners. Meets with and counsel prospective students and parents regarding admission and enrollment
  • Build and maintain the college level communication workflow emails in central CRM admission system to ensure we have solid touch points with applicants through the entire admission process.
  • Utilize central CRM tool to track and store interactions and communications with prospective students. Also develop a process to ensure key marketing pieces are mailed to prospective students at certain points through the admission process
  • Partner with central Admissions in strategic recruitment processes, events, marketing and communication to prospective students
  • Manage the recruitment travel budget by both projecting and tracking in-state mileage expenses as well as out-of-state overall travel expenses to ensure expenses do not exceed projections/funds encumbered. Annually assess ROI by recruitment expense category.
  • Annually collect, monitor, and analyze student enrollment data and conversion rates at all points of the admissions funnel to inform senior leadership of recruitment goals. Devise evaluative measures for all targeted groups and territories to ensure the college’s and university enrollment goals are met.
