Recruiting Operations Analyst

About The Position

Box is seeking a Recruiting Operations Analyst to join their team. This role sits at the intersection of data, systems, and emerging technology, focusing on understanding and improving the recruiting funnel. The analyst will own the recruiting data infrastructure, manage the recruiting tech stack, and partner with the Ops team to drive enablement and ROI. A key aspect of the role involves experimenting with and building AI-assisted workflows to transform recruiting operations. Box is an AI-first company, and this role requires a growth mindset and a desire to leverage AI for faster, smarter decisions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in Recruiting Operations, Talent Analytics, People Operations, or a similar data-focused role.
  • Strong analytical instincts — comfortable working with messy data, building reports from scratch, and surfacing patterns that matter.
  • Hands-on experience with recruiting or HR systems (Greenhouse ATS strongly preferred).
  • Proficiency with reporting tools and data visualization — Excel, Google Sheets, or BI tools like Tableau or Looker.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and automation — someone who tinkers, experiments, and has opinions about where AI can and can't add value.
  • Strong collaborator and communicator — can tell a data story that moves people to action.
  • Based in Chicago, IL.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with recruiting analytics programs or KPI frameworks.
  • Experience with API integrations or low-code/no-code automation tools.
  • Familiarity with AI tools in a recruiting or HR context — whether that's prompt engineering, building GPT-based workflows, or experimenting with agent frameworks.
  • Experience supporting OFCCP compliance reporting or other data-driven compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Partner and collaborate with Recruiters, Recruiting Managers, and cross-functional partners such as People Analytics and People Operations.
  • Support stakeholders with recruiting dashboards to raise the proficiency level across the recruitment team, covering pipeline health, funnel conversion, time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and more.
  • Ensure data integrity across all recruiting systems; establish and maintain processes that keep data accurate and trustworthy.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for recruiters, hiring managers, and senior leadership.
  • Build enablement resources such as reporting guides, data dictionaries, and metric definitions that empower the team to self-serve on data.
  • Serve as an admin and subject matter expert for Greenhouse ATS, including configurations, workflows, permissions, integrations, and reporting.
  • Help optimize the broader recruiting tech stack (Greenhouse, Workday, FindEm, CoderPad, and others), with a sharp eye on how tools work together and where the stack has gaps.
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies and system issues, providing hands-on support to recruiters and hiring teams.
  • Support process improvement initiatives using data to identify inefficiencies and measure the impact of changes.
  • Actively experiment with AI-assisted workflows that reduce manual work, improve data quality, or accelerate recruiting processes.
  • Identify automation opportunities across the recruiting function and prototype solutions, whether that's an AI-powered reporting pipeline, a Greenhouse integration, or a candidate communication workflow.
  • Contribute to the team's broader AI fluency by sharing what you're building, what's working, and what isn't.
