About The Position

The Recruiting Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of recruiting strategies for the resort. This encompasses both domestic and international recruiting, including work visas. Nurture and develop relationships with hiring managers and outside partnerships. Continually educate yourself on industry trends and best practices in the recruiting world and actively seek innovative recruiting practices. Working with our marketing team, the Recruiting Manger is responsible for all web initiatives, print advertising, marketing collateral, social media, and related channels. Must be comfortable speaking in public, presentations, and interviewing applicants. Development of interview and selection best practices in alignment with companywide standards, and provide direction on these practices to all levels of hiring managers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of Full Cycle Recruiting
  • 1+ years of leadership experience
  • HRIS knowledge and experience – Workday preferred
  • Extremely organized with an acute attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, and be able to work well under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills in order to interact effectively with a wide variety of personalities
  • Available for overnight travel as recruiting needs dictate
  • Guide managers in current and legal interviewing and hiring practices

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and coordinate recruiting strategies for the resort, including domestic and international recruiting and work visas.

  • Stay educated on industry trends and best practices in recruiting and actively seek innovative recruiting practices.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on all web initiatives, print advertising, marketing collateral, social media, and related channels.
  • Develop interview and selection best practices in alignment with companywide standards and provide direction to hiring managers.
  • Spend time with managers and point person recruiters for each department or division to manage demands and changes for each position.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of recruiting and HRIS systems and methods.
  • Coordinate which positions are applicable to budgeted recruit trips.
  • Develop a shared schedule with Recruiters for walk-in job inquiries, correspondence, and maintenance of shared emails.
  • Partner with the marketing team to manage all web initiatives, print advertising, marketing collateral, social media, and related channels that drive candidates to hiring managers.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Team and the Director of Talent Acquisition at Alterra for job pushes.
  • Generate ongoing staffing metrics and an end-of-season Recruit Report in conjunction with the Recruit team.
  • Oversee and work on all job postings and procedures with the Strategic Sourcing Recruiter to ensure accurate job descriptions and postings.
  • Communicate expectations to managers regarding applicant flow and follow up to ensure adherence.
  • Respond to all applicants in a departmental manager's absence if requested.
  • Participate in conducting initial screenings, interviews, and follow up with applicants.
  • Generate job offers when applicable.
  • Develop a recruiting plan and budget with the recruit team and guidance from the VP of Human Resources.
  • Assist with the planning, booking, and organization of expenses for off-site job fairs and attend as a company representative or send appropriate managers.
  • Keep a record of all trips with contact information and itineraries.
  • Plan and organize all local recruiting efforts, including fall onsite job fairs.
  • Work with Marketing on an annual recruiting plan.
  • Research and order recruiting swag based on budget.
  • Organize and guide the Academic Internship Program and the Culinary and Baking & Pastry Externship Programs, matching candidates to positions and ensuring curriculum requirements are met.
  • Work with area schools to bring awareness of job opportunities with Deer Valley Resort.
  • Maintain knowledge of changes in regulations governing the J-1 and H-2B visa programs.
  • Guide and direct the International Recruiter to evaluate and coordinate all international hiring efforts.
  • Oversee and assist all H-2B efforts with the International Recruiter and chosen attorney.
  • Oversee and assist the International Recruiter in processing offers for all visa employees.
  • Ensure the International Recruiter communicates with the HR Front Desk team the records needed for I-9 documents and system setup.
  • Follow up with all concerns and issues that may arise with students, seeking assistance from the HR Director when needed.
  • Be familiar with the duties and responsibilities of other members of the HR staff and assist them as needed.
  • Assist with employee functions and events organized by Human Resources.
  • Support peak time operations, including work outside of Human Resources, to ensure the Deer Valley Difference is provided to all guests.
