About The Position

Responsibilities for the Recruiter include, but are not limited to the following: Work closely with search committees on the full-cycle recruiting process for assigned divisions/departments, including: Post New Positions: Ensure job announcement will attract top talent and is free of spelling and grammatical errors. Utilize best practices in recruitment and sourcing to reach a large candidate pool. Recommend and Research Sourcing Options: Identify sourcing strategies that have produced high quality candidates for similar positions. Be well-versed and active with job boards and social networks to attract active and passive candidates. Screen Applicants: Using thorough and consistent evaluation of candidate’s capabilities, provide a qualified applicant pool to hiring committee; partner with hiring manager to ensure job requirements are clear and candidates are appropriately assessed. Review Final Offer Package: Ensure all interview materials are supportive of final candidate selection; ensure disposition codes are complete and accurate, and all interview notes, evaluations and references are received and in order. Onboard New Hires: Guide new hires on the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition as a TU employee. Strengthen recruitment outreach efforts by partnering with Workforce Development Coordinator and community organizations that engage potential candidates; build and maintain partnerships to broaden recruitment pipelines and enhance TU's presence as an employer of choice within diverse talent communities. Create and share targeted, engaging LinkedIn job posts to attract qualified candidates, actively interact with potential applicants, and follow up with interested applicants to strengthen applicant pipelines. With a focus on customer service, conduct ongoing training and technical support regarding automated hiring/applicant tracking system; partner with HRIS team on complex technical issues; and recommend solutions and updates to applicant tracking system for increased efficiency. Represent Towson University at a variety of recruitment functions, such as job fairs, information sessions, and professional conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of recruiting experience.
  • Experience in and understanding of active recruiting and building a qualified candidate pool.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and proactively following up with constituents.
  • Demonstrated understanding of practices and theories related to recruitment and selection.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to make presentations to individuals and large groups.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply attention to detail when reviewing, processing, and finalizing work products to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in HR or a related field.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience developing outreach strategies.
