About The Position

SMG is a nationally recognized professional service organization that provides workplace safety consulting, training, staffing, program planning, and implementation. SMG is seeking a Recruiter in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. The Recruiter plays a key role in sourcing and securing top talent to meet SMG’s internal staffing needs. This individual will collaborate closely with the Recruiting Manager and hiring managers to assess workforce requirements, support strategic planning initiatives, and build strong candidate pipelines to ensure timely and effective hiring.

Requirements

  • Two plus years of technical recruiting experience.
  • Experience working at a staffing firm is highly preferred.
  • Experience conducting phone screens and creating relationships with candidates.
  • Experience sourcing via job boards.
  • Experience working with ATS systems, SmartSheet, Microsoft Forms, etc.
  • Highly consultative and professionally polished approach to recruiting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Ability to work in the office three days a week.
  • Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing strategies, such as building pipelines for potential applicants.
  • Ensure a positive experience for candidates.
  • Form close relationships with hiring managers to provide clear expectations for candidates and interviewers.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and candidate selection criteria.
  • Source applicants online, such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and other professional networks.
  • Complete reference checks on all new hires.
  • Follow-up calls with previous candidates and constant communication via phone, email, and social media.
  • Send out welcome emails and follow up with candidates during the new-hire process.
  • Salary negotiations with candidates and managers.
  • Attend College career fairs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
