Recruiter (Fixed Term Contract)

AurorDenver, CO
$79,000 - $102,000

About The Position

Auror is a company dedicated to empowering the retail industry to combat theft and Organized Retail Crime, a significant global issue. Founded 12 years ago in New Zealand, Auror collaborates with major retailers worldwide across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, utilizing technology and intelligence to reduce crime. The company has a clear mission to reduce violent retail crime by 50% in 5 years and is actively incorporating AI to enhance its impact. This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract with the potential to become permanent, focusing on end-to-end hiring across various markets and functions, including sales, marketing, customer success, and potentially ops and product/engineering. The position offers significant autonomy in shaping hiring processes and candidate experiences, working closely with a strategic People Experience team. The recruiter's success will directly contribute to Auror's mission and the development of its people experience and culture. The role requires a proactive individual who can identify and address process improvements, reporting to the Senior Director of Talent and People Experience.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of end-to-end recruiting experience — you've owned the full process from sourcing to close, not just one part of it
  • A GTM lens: you understand what strong looks like in sales, marketing, and customer success roles, and you know how to assess for it
  • High agency — you identify what needs to be done and you do it, without waiting for perfect clarity or a nudge
  • Strong stakeholder skills — hiring managers trust you because you're organised, honest, and follow through
  • A genuine eye for candidate experience and employer brand; you care about the impression Auror leaves, not just whether roles get filled
  • Comfortable working at pace with ambiguity — you adapt quickly and don't need everything to be defined before you start

Nice To Haves

  • Startup or tech industry background is a plus
  • Ashby experience is a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Running end-to-end recruiting — from intake through to offer, with hiring managers who'll trust you to run the process well
  • Being a genuine thought partner to hiring managers, not just a coordinator between them and candidates
  • Building the kind of candidate experience people talk about — responsive, personalised, and reflective of Auror
  • Building diverse pipelines intentionally — actively sourcing from underrepresented groups, challenging where our pipelines are too narrow, and advocating for inclusive hiring practices across every team you support
  • Supporting onboarding so the experience doesn't drop off after a candidate signs
  • Keeping Ashby (ATS) sharp — candidate records clean, stages current, data reliable, and nothing falling through the cracks. We use our ATS as a source of truth, and you'll be the one who holds that standard
  • Supporting on talent projects such as EVP development, careers site improvements, recruiting events, process enhancements — and picking them up proactively

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: Depending on level of experience, between $79,000 – $102,000 USD depending on experience (IC2).
  • Flexibility: We are hard-working and outcome focused, but recognise there is more to life than work. We promote a healthy work/life blend.
  • Shorter work weeks (at full pay): Everyone gets Friday afternoons off, so you can start your weekend early, and do more of whatever it is that makes you happy.
  • Personal growth: We support our team to participate in courses, conferences, or events that will help them develop their skills.
  • Team love: We have regular team lunches and social events where most (if not all) activities are during work hours.
