About The Position

Laborde Products, a leading marine engine distributor with over 25 years of service across the Southeast, Great Lakes, and East Coast, is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Recruiter to join their team in Covington, LA. This role is crucial for identifying and attracting top talent to support the company's growth and future development. The Recruiter will be responsible for developing and executing recruiting strategies, sourcing passive candidates, building talent pipelines, and partnering with hiring leaders to understand workforce needs. The position involves conducting initial candidate screenings, acting as a talent advisor, representing the company at recruiting events, and ensuring an exceptional candidate experience. Maintaining accurate records in the applicant tracking system and staying informed on industry trends are also key aspects of the role. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of recruiting, staffing, or headhunting experience preferred.
  • Experience sourcing passive candidates and filling hard-to-recruit positions is strongly preferred.
  • Experience recruiting within technical, industrial, manufacturing, marine or diesel environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute proactive recruiting strategies to identify and attract top talent for current and future hiring needs.
  • Source passive candidates through networking, referrals, LinkedIn, industry associations, technical schools, trade organizations, recruiting platforms, and direct outreach.
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines of qualified candidates for technical, operational, leadership, and support roles.
  • Partner closely with hiring leaders to understand workforce needs, role requirements, team dynamics, and long-term hiring strategies.
  • Conduct initial candidate outreach, phone screens, and qualification interviews to assess technical capabilities, cultural alignment, and long-term fit.
  • Act as a talent advisor to hiring leaders by providing market insight, recruiting strategy recommendations, and candidate feedback.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals, schools, trade programs, military organizations, and workforce development groups to strengthen recruiting efforts.
  • Represent Laborde Products at recruiting events, career fairs, networking functions, and industry conferences.
  • Create compelling job advertisements and recruiting content designed to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Maintain an exceptional candidate experience through consistent communication, professionalism, and timely follow-up throughout the hiring process.
  • Coordinate interviews, offer discussions, and pre-employment processes while ensuring a positive hiring experience.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting activity and candidate documentation within the applicant tracking system.
  • Stay informed on industry hiring trends, competitor activity, labor market conditions, and recruiting best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business growth and talent acquisition initiatives.
