About The Position

Organize and execute the recruitment of students throughout the southwest part of the state for the Thunderbird Youth Academy. This role involves contacting, scheduling, and visiting various community groups, civic clubs, state offices, schools, religious organizations, and youth organizations to identify prospective students and mentors. The position requires following up on leads via phone, email, letter, or personal contact throughout the year, maintaining a wait list for future cycles, and physically performing presentations using approved materials. The recruiter will track the application process from identification to acceptance, aiming to attain a minimum goal of 100 applications per recruiting cycle. Attendance at interviews, orientations, in-processing, training sessions, graduations, and staff meetings is also required. The role includes creating, maintaining, producing, and distributing promotional materials, and submitting a monthly schedule and summary of activities. Maintaining confidential information about current students, mentors, and graduates, and interacting with the cadet corps as required are also key duties. Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Possession of or willingness to obtain a CDL.
  • Must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 15 pounds.
  • Some evening and weekends hours are required.
  • Contingent on a favorable NCIC/OSBI background check
  • Contingent on passing pre-employment drug & alcohol screening
  • A valid driver license (possession of or willingness to obtain a CDL)
  • T1/CNACI security clearance due to working with youth (Eligibility for national security positions shall be granted only to persons who are U.S. citizens.)

Responsibilities

  • Organize and execute the recruitment of students throughout the southwest part of the state for upcoming classes
  • Contact, schedule and visit community groups, civic clubs, state offices, schools, religious organizations, and youth organizations to obtain leads on prospective students and mentors for the academy
  • Follow-up on all leads for potential applicants by phone, email, letter or personal contact throughout the year
  • Maintain a wait list for future cycles
  • Physically perform presentations using approved materials to groups ensuring that presentations are informative and professional
  • Track application process on prospective students from identification until acceptance
  • Attain a minimum goal of 100 applications per recruiting cycle to allow a sufficient pool of applicants
  • Attends all interviews/orientations, in processing, training sessions, graduation and staff meetings assigned by the RPM Coordinator
  • Creates, maintains, produces, and distributes promotional materials.
  • Responsible for turning in monthly schedule of activities to RPM coordinator and a summary of monthly activities no later than the 29th day of each month
  • Able to travel as necessary.
  • Maintain confidential information about current students, mentors, and graduates
  • Interact with cadet corps as required.
