The Native American Center for Health Professions (NACHP) is located in the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) with the mission to improve the recruitment, retention and graduation rates of health professions students engaged with Tribal communities and to promote health education, research and community-academic partnerships with Tribal communities. The Improving Indigenous Health through Mentorship, Academics, Engagement and Innovation (IIMAGIN) is a three -year initiative, grant funded by the Wisconsin Partnership Program (WPP). IIMAGIN will focus on strengthening existing pre-college and college program pathways, in partnership with tribal communities and tribal colleges and universities. Additionally, the IIMAGIN grant will enhance opportunities for residents, fellows and faculty by expanding tribal clinic rotations and expand Indigenous health curriculum. The Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator is a grant funded position by the IIMAGIN grant, which will be funded until December 2028, or dependent on funding renewal. This position will serve as a primary point of contact for project activities including: Visiting student opportunities (scholarship program for visiting medical student clinic rotations); engagement with various departments within SMPH and UW Health that support resident, faculty, fellow and trainee recruitment and engagement; resident and faculty engagement with NACHP activities . This position will play a key role to assist the NACHP TEO (Tribal Engagement Office) with coordination of faculty research projects and student research opportunities within tribal communities. The Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator will assist the TEO on tribal clinic rotation coordination and communication for students and residents/fellows. The Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator will assist with organization and communication of the NACHP Advisory Council . Additionally, this position will lead the efforts around alumni and Advisory Council engagement opportunities . This position will maintain tracking of faculty recruitment and retention. This position has the option to have the assigned work location on the UW-Madison Campus or the NACHP Tribal Engagement Office located on the Oneida reservation. This position is full or part-time, 80 %- 100 % This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Terminal, 24 month appointment This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every two years. Occasional travel to both sites (Madison and Oneida), and statewide tribal clinics sites, will be required. This position will be a hybrid position with work remote and at an office location. Must provide a valid driver's license. Employees may use their own transportation or receive approval for University Car Fleet usage.
