About The Position

Join our team as a Recreational Aide and bring energy, creativity, and compassion to PACE of Southwest Michigan! You’ll plan and lead engaging activities while helping create a warm, welcoming community where everyone feels connected and supported.

Requirements

  • Experience as an activity assistant or rec aide.
  • Minimum of one-year experience working with frail and elderly.
  • CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Position requires a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing a monthly calendar of events for participants.
  • Maintains general order in the activities area, including daily clean up, routine supply inventory, and ordering for the recreation department.
  • Plans and implements activities for dementia specific participants in collaboration with Recreational Therapist.
  • Builds a sense of community and a warm social atmosphere in the Day Center in which participants can identify a support system.
  • Completes progress reports and assessments.
  • Attends IDT morning meeting, care planning, team huddles, and care conferences as needed.
  • Assist with transporting and escorting participants to and from activities in the Day Center.
  • Completes SBAR form for any clinical participant concerns when in the Day Center.
  • Provide reception desk coverage as needed.
  • Assist with lunch (passing trays, serving drinks) as needed.
  • Completes home visits when directed.
